Welcome to Mas Jourda

Philippe Jourda is a young wine producer who created his vineyard in 2003. The Mas Jourda vineyard includes 5.5 hectares of vines and a further 1.5 hectares ready for planting.  Our vines are situated  40 kms away from Perpignan, in the foothills of Mount Canigou, in the picturesque Catalan villages of Joch, Rigarda, Rodès and Vinça.

Philippe is one of the few independent winemakers based in the Conflent. He has invested in new stainless and resin tanks with floating caps, the grapes are pressed with a pawl wine-press of 5 Hl, this technique allows us to get the very best out of the grapes and the fermentation process. All of our grapes are painstakingly hand picked and de-stalked. The black grape varieties such as Carignan, Syrah and Grenache are all carefully selected from the several vineyards that  Philippe has nurtured. Here at Mas Jourda, Philippe is able to vinify different wines as Vins de Pays, AOC Côtes du Roussillon or Vins de Table according to the blending.  Since 2007 Philippe has also been producing bottles of 100% Grenache Noir Grape Juice.



This year sees the addition of 3 exciting new wines to his range: a Rosé wine (blending of Carignan and Grenache Noir); a White wine vinified with the many stocks of white and grey Carignan-Grenache that were planted in the oldest vines; a naturally sweet wine 100 % Grenache Noir.


Philippe has always adopted a traditional, natural, chemical free approach to nurturing his vines. As such the vineyard and its wine production is currently in the process of being officially certified as “Organic” and are proud to announce that from 2010 the Mas Jourda wines will carry the AB (Agricole Biologique) Label.
